JESUS HANDS • 'BOGGY DEPOT'
Written by Jerry Cantrell
Transcribed and contributed by Matt Rouse

Tuning:
1/2 step down

Notes:
Here's my shot at "Jesus Hands". Cool song. Tune down 1/2 step. The
chorus here is missing the lead guitar that's layered on top of the mix,
and I didn't really tab out the dis-jointed rhythm. Anyone else have any
ideas for the chorus? Please post them!

Intro / Verse [Clean Electric w/ slight Tremolo, Chorus and Reverb]:
Eb:------------0---|----------------|-------0--------|
Bb:---------------3|----------------|----3-----3-----|
Gb:---------0------|--0-------------|-0-----------0--|
Db:------2---------|-----2--------2-|----------------|
Ab:---2------------|-----------1----|----------------|
Eb:0---------------|----------------|----------------|

Chorus [Electric w/ heavy Distortion]:
                    [Chorus Outro]
Eb:----------------|----------------------------------|
Bb:----------------|----------------------------------|
Gb:----------------|----------------------------------|
Db:-2--------------|-2=======2-2=========2-2========--|
Ab:-2---5---5---7--|-2=======2-2p1=======2-2=====etc.-|
Eb:-0---0---3---5--|-0=======0-0=========0-0========--|

Tuning:
1/2 step down

Notes:
I tabbed this out with the chord names for the standard tuning, but
actually you tune the guitar down a half a step to play it. For the
Intro and Verse parts turn on your chorus and reverb effects. For the
Chorus turn on the distortion until it starts to break up and feedback
slightly so you have the saturated, crunchy tone Jerry just loves to
jam with.

If anyone can figure out the weird shrieking/squealing guitar parts
please post em, I have no clue how many effects he uses to make those
sweet sounds. They rock and the song isn't the same w/o them.

Intro / Verse:
   Em A7
Eb:-------------0---------------------------0--------|
Bb:----------------3---------------------3-----3-----|
Gb:----------0-------0---------------0-----------0---|
Db:-------2-------------2---------2------------------|
Ab:-----2-----------------------1--------------------|
Eb:---0----------------------------------------------|

Chorus:
    E G5 A5 E
Eb:-------------------------------------------------|
Bb:-------------------------------------------------|
Gb:-------------------------------------------------|
Db:-2-----------------------------------------------|
Ab:-2---5---5-5--5-5/7-7-hold--7---5---7-7---5---7--|
Eb:-0---0---3-3--3-3/5-5-hold--0---0---5-5---3---5--|

During this part you toss in mutes on the E and A strings in
between some of the chords. Listen to it to figure it out.

Eb:-------------------------|
Bb:-------------------------|
Gb:-------------------------| Play this at the end of
Db:----2--2------------2-2--| the Chorus part.
Ab:----2--2-p-1--------2-2--|
Eb:----0--0------------0-0--|

p = pull off
/ = slide up

Weird shrieking/squealing guitar parts:
It's an artificial harmonic that has been intensified by the whammy
bar... The only problem is that I don't know which fret, but I know
that's what it is because Dimebag Darrel (Pantera) does it on
several albums. To play them you play the harmonic then lift the
whammy bar to make the note sound sharp, and also to make the
guitar sound like it's screaming...
                                     - Nathan Dothager

At the end, one of the weird sounds that sounds faded in and faded
out, (I can't tell if it's volume or just a wah-wah), goes like this:

Tuned down 1/2 step:

Eb:--12--15--10--12----7--10---|
Bb:----------------------------|
Gb:----------------------------|
Db:----------------------------|
Ab:----------------------------|
Eb:----------------------------| - Doghead6@aol.com

The shrieking noises are just notes played on a cool wah pedal like
'Whine-o-wah', I don't know where the harmonic stuff came from.
