PARADISE LOST - Cruel One(3:20)

(Extract from "Say Just Words"(1997),CD 4 titles-Music for Nations-ref:CDKUT 174)
Listen to the song before to play.I think it's a good song!
I'm not sure of the verse (riff2),this is especially a help.
The note between square brackets means that you must to continue the riff.
The note between brackets means that you mustn't play but it's the previous
note which you let sound.
 Normal Tuning(EADGBe)

Riff 1 - Intro and Chorus:
Lead Guitar
e:|---------------------------------|
B:|----9------7------7--------------|
G:|-6----9------9------9-8-6-8-[6]--|
D:|---------------------------------|
A:|---------------------------------|
E:|---------------------------------|
  |                                 |
Ryhthm Guitar                       |
  |C#5          A5     B5           |
e:|---------------------------------|
B:|---------------------------------|
G:|-6----6------2------4------------|
D:|-6----6------2------4------------|
A:|-4----4------0------2------------|
E:|---------------------------------|

Riff 2 - Verse:
Both Guitars
   C#5                               B5
e:|--------------------------------|--------------------------------|
B:|--------------------------------|--------------------------------|
G:|-6----6-----6-6-x-x-x-6-x-x-x-6-|-4----4-----4-4-x-x-x-4-x-x-x-4-|
D:|-6----6-----6-6-x-x-x-6-x-x-x-6-|-4----4-----4-4-x-x-x-4-x-x-x-4-|
A:|-4----4-----4-4-x-x-x-4-x-x-x-4-|-2----2-----2-2-x-x-x-2-x-x-x-2-|
E:|--------------------------------|--------------------------------|

Riff 3 - Pre-chorus:
Lead Guitar
                              ______________________  _______________________________
                              |1.                   ||2.                            |
e:|--------12-14-12----------||---------------------||------------------------------|
B:|-14--------------14-12-14-||----14-12----12-[14]-||----(14)-12------7--[6-chorus]|
G:|--------------------------||----------11---------||------------11-9--------------|
D:|--------------------------||---------------------||------------------------------|
A:|--------------------------||---------------------||------------------------------|
E:|--------------------------||---------------------||------------------------------|
  W                          X                      Y                              Z
First you play from W to Y , and Then you play from W to X and Y to Z(the 2nd time omit X to Y),
In the part 2 you can replace (B:-7) by (G:-11) , but (B:-7) is more easier.

Riff 4 - Break:
   C#5       B5        B5      C#5
e:|---------------|---------------|
B:|---------------|---------------|
G:|-6--------4----|----4--------6-|
D:|-6--------4----|----4--------6-|
A:|-4--------2----|----2--------4-|
E:|---------------|---------------|

Solo:
Rythm Guitar(during the solo).
C#5 = C
B5 = B
                                                       __________________  ______
                                                       |1.               ||2.   |
|-C-C-C-C-C-C-C-C-|-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-|-C-C-C-C-C-C-C-C-||-B---B---B---B---||--B--|

Song Structure:

intro:riff 1 * 4

verse:riff 2 * 2

pre-chorus:riff 3 * 1

chorus:riff 1 * 8

verse:riff 2 * 2

pre-chorus:riff 3 * 1

chorus:riff 1 * 8

break:riff 4 * 2

solo

chorus:riff 1 * 8

end.

If the riff 1 is a little difficult you can change the position of the fingers,
it's easy.
Riff 1'
e:-----4-0---2-0---2-0-------------------|
B:-2-----------------------4--2--4--[2]--|
G:---------------------------------------|
D:---------------------------------------|
A:---------------------------------------|
E:---------------------------------------|

But I think the riff 1 (at the beginning) is better for the connection between the riff3 and
the riff 1,and better for the sound.
