"Elephant Talk" from the King Crimson album "Discipline"
Fripp Guitar Part
Transcribed by Reginald Hunt

This transcription is set in standard tuning. I find it works pretty well.
The arpeggios should be played staccato.
The "(__)" in the solo is meant to be a tie, indicating in this case
that the 2nd note is hammered.

After Tony Levin's Stick intro, the Fripp part begins as:

(E minor Arpeggio)
 1       2       3       4

Stick TAB

Elephant Talk
by King Crimson

This is tabed for 12-string Stick or Warr. Levin played a 10-string on the
record and tuned the E on the bass side down a half-step. This enabled him
to play the flat-five chords with a stright, two string bar. I've written
this in standard tuning and put the chords on the melody side because it
works better for me.

main riff:
D |--------------------------|
A |--------------------------|
E |-------14--14-----14--16--|
B |-------13--13-----13--15--|
F#|--------------------------|
C#|--------------------------|
C |==9==9====================|
G |--------------7-9---------|
D |-----------------------7--|
A |--------------------------|
E |--------------------------|
B |--------------------------|

fill:
D |--------------------------|
A |--------------------------|
E |-------14--14-------------|
B |-------13--13-------------|
F#|--------------------------|
C#|--------------------------|
C |==9==9========9=6===7=====|
G |--------------------------|
D |--------------------------|
A |--------------------------|
E |--------------------------|
B |--------------------------|

second riff (part w/ elephant noises)
D |-------------------------------------------|
A |-------------------------------------------|
E |-------------------------------------------|
B |-------10--10--------------10--10----------|
F#|-------10--10--------------10--10----------|

C |==6==6========6==4====6==6========6==4==5==|
G |-------------------------------------------|
D |-------------------------------------------|

first bridge (after "c" verse)
C |==========8==============8====6==4==1====

second bridge (after "D" verse)

I noticed, in the tab for Elephant Talk, that Colin Marston added some
Stick tab and I wanted to put an addendum to that.

I've watched Tony play this tune numerous times and he plays the
entirety of the main riff on the bass side of the Stick with the E
bass string detuned a half step Eb. That way, he can use one finger
for both the high notes and shake it for that vibrato sound.

main riff:(bass side tab for 10 string Stick)
          (I purposely left out the melody side tab)
          (also notice string #10 is detuned a half step)
C |==9==9===========================|
G |----------------7-9--------------|
D |---------------------------------|
A |--------14--14-------14--16--14--|
Eb|--------14--14-------14--16--14--|
