Title: Message in a Bottle
Album: Regatta De Blanc
Transcribed by: Patrick Mauro

This is the best song ever written by the Police (I think it
blows Every Breath You Take out of the water, so to
speak). It's actually not that hard, just difficult stretches.
Listen to the song for the timing. It sounds like Andy Summers
uses a chorus pedal and a phaser for this.

* I believe this is actually how Andy Summers plays
it (there is a faint, but different sound, and that's
what is looked like when he was playing it on
the video Synchronicity Concert).

** I'm having troubles catching Riff 5. When I get it
I'll update this tab.

Lyrics
===================

Just a castaway
An island lost at sea
Another lonely day
No-one here but me
More loneliness
Than any man could bear
Rescue me before I fall into despair

I'll send an SOS to the world
I'll send an SOS to the world
I hope that someone gets my
I hope that someone gets my
I hope that someone gets my
Message in a bottle

A year has passed since I wrote my note
But I should have known this right from the start
Only hope can keep me together
Love can mend your life
But love can break your heart

I'll send an SOS to the world
I'll send an SOS to the world
I hope that someone gets my
I hope that someone gets my
I hope that someone gets my
Message in a bottle

Walked out this morning
Don't believe what I saw
A hundred billion bottles
Washed up on the shore
Seems I'm not along in being along
A hundred billion castaways
Looking for a home

I'll send an SOS to the world
I'll send an SOS to the world
I hope that someone gets my
I hope that someone gets my
I hope that someone gets my
Message in a bottle

Sending out an SOS (repeat and fade)
