N - Ted Nugent - "Great White Buffalo" guitar tab and chords
Printer friendly version :: Total views: 236
If you're looking for a Nuge riff, this is probably the one you want.
First cut at a transcription was posted by Dean Coss , however it was inaccurate and a bit unwieldy in position and
note choice. Nugent plays this as an open position pentatonic riff,
and uses open D and A chords. Besides being easier to play this way
when you're running around in a loin cloth, Nugent appeared as himself
on an episode of That 70's Show playing it this way, so I can guarantee
the open position fingering is correct. Don't use pull-offs for the
main descending riff, you want a chunkier sound, so coordinate the
pick and left hand index finger. It's a good riff, enjoy...

b = bend
p = pull off

E                         D            A
                                 p

                 b                                b

That's basically it. I've indicated a rest note with a "." to show the
timing of the riff, i.e. there is a slight pause after hitting the 4th
string 2nd fret E, and to draw attention to this point in the riff. On
the studio recording, the the rest note is sometimes replaced with a 2,
that is, play "2 2 2" instead of "2 pause 2". That's for the anal
retentive who want to play it absolutely note for note, and have a bit
more fun alternating the riff as done on the original recording. On the
Double Live Gonzo live version, Ted doesn't bother with this. Don't
forget to bend the low G note slightly for that authentic twang (and
don't forget the one right before the repeat). Play it loud, or don't
play it at all. :)
